A do-it-yourself gymnastic wall at a cost is about 10 times cheaper than a purchased one. Although not much different from the purchase. You do not need to be a great specialist in soldering pipes to assemble it from polypropylene pipes. I made this Swedish wall for my child. It is able to withstand up to 80 kilograms, which is quite acceptable for school children.
It is not for me to explain to you how useful gymnastics is for children, especially for strengthening the muscles of the spine. And the prices for such gymnastic installations leave much to be desired ...
These criteria pushed me to think and make this wall of polypropylene pipes for my son.
The son drew a drawing, he had long wanted this.
Getting to work
What you need:
- Pipes are inch, with a diameter of 33 mm.
- Pipe fitting.
- Soldering iron for polypropylene pipes.
- Paint if desired.
You will have to calculate everything yourself for your requests. Take into account the height of the ceiling, etc. things.
As you all calculated, we cut the blanks. And we begin to solder the nodes. You can remove the black marking from the pipes with alcohol in advance, so as not to do so later. But you can certainly erase it and in the end - it will not be worse.
It took about an hour for everything about everything and the wall was ready. I recommend soldering in open areas, as all this terribly stinks if you work for a long time. Also, be sure to use work gloves - the soldering iron is very hot and you will be burned if you have little experience in welding polypropylene pipes.
Please note that all pipe ends are sealed with plugs.
I painted the base blue. To make the transitions smooth, I used masking tape.
Fasten the gymnastic Swedish wall as follows. We make holes along the sides of the tees along the entire length. From the back we substitute previously cut and painted pieces of the same pipe and fasten it to the wall with long bolts. Before that, we make holes in the wall with plastic inserts.
Gymnastics rings are also made of pipe. To bend them into the ring, you need to heat the pipe along its entire length, and using a template of a wide diameter type, cool. Next, solder the jumper.
I bought the ropes, you can’t get anywhere.
The child really likes - he is just delighted!
Control tests weighing 75 kg.
The result met all expectations. It turned out to be beautiful and necessary is not at all difficult. Thank you all for your attention!
