In this review, the author shows how to make a rather unusual and very beautiful combined pattern on a square bar with a cross section of 10 * 10 mm with your own hands.
First, cut a small piece of suitable length from a square bar.
Next, you need to make markup. First, on each side, draw a center line that will be a guideline.
Then the author makes a checkerboard pattern, alternating segments of 4 cm and 2 cm.
Having made such a marking on any one side of the workpiece, then we need to transfer all the lines to the other sides. For this, the author uses a square and a scriber.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, the author clamps the workpiece in a vise. In sections 4 cm long, it will be necessary to make marks of 5 mm.
In areas of 2 cm long, make marks of 1 cm. That is, divide them in half.
Then, using the square and the scriber, transfer the marks to the other sides of the square.
After that, we again fix the workpiece in a vice with an edge, and using an angle grinder we make incisions at an angle of 45 degrees (on all edges).
Next, the master makes transverse cuts with a depth of 1-2 mm on a square blank, forming cubes.
Using a hammer and punch, the author makes small holes (indentations), as on dice.
At the last stage, it remains only to heat this workpiece and twist it into a torsion bar.
