Reel for irrigation hose - an indispensable thing in every suburban area. And why?
Many summer residents will imagine that they will have to unwind dozens of meters of hose, and after watering, also wind it back, so they grab onto their heads.
And with a coil, this process takes much less time. And it’s much more convenient to store a hose wound on a reel.
Buying a reel in a store doesn’t make much sense, as their prices "bite". But to do it yourself - that's it. Moreover, materials for the coil can be obtained without problems.
So, for the manufacture of homemade products we need:
- steel bar with a diameter of 10 mm;
- profile pipe 15x15 mm with a wall thickness of 2 mm;
- fittings with quick connectors;
- plastic pipe trims and steel shafts.
The main stages of work
First, cut two bars of suitable length and make two hoops from them (diameter 50-60 cm).
Then we arm ourselves with a grinder and cut 16 pieces of workpieces from a bar about 30-35 cm long. We make staples out of them.
In the next step, we cut off a small number of rods to make knitting needles. Then we collect the winding drum, welding all the parts together.
We make a handle from profile pipes. Weld to the main structure.
For the convenience of moving the coil to the profile pipes, wheels can be welded at the bottom. If the coil is installed permanently, then there is no need for wheels.
At the last stage, we install fittings. If you want the neighbors to be envious, homemade can be painted.
