To make such a clamp, you need simple and affordable materials: three pieces of the corner 30x30 mm 15 cm long, two round rods 6-8 mm in diameter and 25 cm long, as well as a long stud and nuts. From the tool you will need a grinder with a cutting wheel, an electric drill and a welding machine.
A home-made clamp made of steel corners is durable and reliable, as well as simple in terms of design. It will be useful both in the process of gluing wooden billets, and in the processing of metal products.
Work stages
First of all, from the steel corner, you must cut off the grinder with three identical segments of 15 cm long. Then, you need to drill into them two holes for the guides (rods of circular cross section). To do this, make markings and drill holes at the edges, backing off about 5 mm.
We connect all three segments of the corner using guides, while the workpiece, which is located in the middle, must remain movable, and the extreme ones are rigidly fixed to the round bars by welding. Next, drill the center holes in two corners for the stud.
An outer nut for the stud must be welded to the extreme corner on the outside. Another nut (but already normal) must be welded to the corner, which is in the middle. Thus, two clamping jaws were obtained: one movable, the other not.
