With this home-made tool you can automate the process of harvesting firewood at home - you do not have to wave an ax in the sweat of your face to chop logs (especially from hard wood).

The principle of operation of such a logger of firewood (it is also called a "mechanical cleaver") is quite simple - due to the pressure of the hydraulic press, the log is easily split. You can make this device for the house and cottage with your own hands from improvised materials.

The main stages of work

First you need to cut a piece of a thick metal plate about 27-28 cm long and 12 cm wide, the surface of which must be sanded with a grinder. Also, a segment of the profile pipe with sides 80x80 mm and a length of 68-70 cm will be needed.

Next, you need to cut two pieces of different sizes from a wide steel strip, which must be welded to each other perpendicularly at right angles. At the base of the resulting part, as well as in the profile pipe, two holes must be drilled.

At the next stage, using gas or electric welding, we connect all the main elements of this design. When the vertical stand is fully assembled, in its upper part it is necessary to fix the platform with the cleaver on two bolts with nuts, and in the bottom - to install a small hydraulic press.

Such a homemade product is very practical to use and is useful both in a summer cottage and in a country house. Hydraulic firewood peelers can also be used in small woodworking workshops.
