If you need round wooden sticks of various diameters, they can be made without problems even at home, using simple tools for this. As blanks, square slats are used, which can be cut from a half-inch edged board or wooden bars.
In general, for the manufacture of round sticks, any lumber that is at hand is suitable. The device itself (correctly called a conductor) is made of a steel plate 40 mm wide and about 6-8 mm thick.
You will also need a file, a screwdriver or an electric drill and a grinder with a flap wheel (you can replace it with a grinding machine). The length of the plate can be different, depending on how many holes you are going to drill in it (each hole is for a specific diameter of the stick).
The main stages of work
We mark and drill holes of different diameters at a distance of 4-5 cm from each other (for example, 20 mm and 14 mm). Next to each hole, we drill two more holes, but not through, but to a depth of about 1-2 mm. Then with the help of a file we grind sharp edges and smooth transitions.
We cut the wooden slats and slightly round them on both sides on an emery or using a grinder with a petal circle. Then we insert each workpiece into the chuck of a screwdriver or drill and pass through the hole of the desired diameter in the conductor.
