When performing various metalwork in a garage or home workshop (for example, when cutting, drilling, etc.), a lot of small metal waste remains - chips, cuttings, dust.
A broom with a dustpan, of course, can help in such cases, but in this case, cleaning will take a lot of time. To collect metal waste, you can use a simple "vacuum cleaner" from a magnet. You can do it yourself.
For this homemade product you will need a round magnet (can be removed from the old Soviet speaker), two pieces of a tube of different diameters, a bolt with a nut, a metal clamp with a lock and a plastic bottle.
The main stages of work
First, cut off the top of the plastic bottle with a neck. Then you need to weld the bolt and nut to the back of the round metal plate on which the magnet is worn.
To put a piece of plastic bottle on the pipe, you will need to make a sleeve with slots, as in the photo below.
The sleeve must be welded to the pipe. A nut must be welded to a segment of the second pipe (smaller diameter). Then the welds must be sanded.
At the last stage, the master proceeds to assemble the device. Details on how to make a simple “vacuum cleaner” from a magnet to collect metal waste can be found in the video on our website.
